Description
Join Ruthie Dougherty, SJPT Preserve Curator/Interpretive Specialist, for an easy-going insect walk at the Ellis Preserve on Shaw Island. Ruthie will be joined by Christina Mitchell and Owen Cass.
Christina is an ecologist with the Insititure of Applied Ecology, where she monitors and informs restoration practices to benefit native and threatened species. She earned a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation at the University of Delaware, and a PhD in Entomology and Applied Ecology from North Caroline State University. Owen is a mitigation biologist with the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. He holds a B.S. in Plant Science and Entomology from the University of Delaware. Exploring with Owen and Christina is a true delight as they are knowledge and passionate advocates for conservation.
