Summary
Description
Join Ruthie Dougherty, SJPT Preserve Curator/Interpretive Specialist, and special guest, Jane Billinghurst, for a thought-provoking forest walk at the Ellis Preserve on Shaw Island.
Jane is the translator of Peter Wohlleben’s The Hidden Life of Trees and co-author with Peter of Forest Walking: Discovering the Trees and Woodlands of North America. When she is not out hiking in the Anacortes Forestlands, she edits a wide range of natural history titles for Greystone Books in Vancouver, Canada. On this walk with Jane, we will discover how the various parts of a forest interact, learn how a forest is so much more than just a collection of trees, and find tiny treasures on the forest floor.
